SRE Capital secures £300 million senior secured facility from Pollen Street Capital to scale UK distributed energy infrastructure
New facility provides committed deployment capacity for behind-the-meter renewable energy infrastructure across the UK commercial and industrial sector.
London, UK|
SRE Capital, the asset ownership and investment vehicle within the Saber Renewable Energy group, today announced a £300 million senior secured facility with Pollen Street Capital. The facility will fund the deployment of long-duration contracted renewable energy infrastructure across enterprise and mid-market sites in the UK.
The facility supports the deployment of solar PV, hydrogen-ready combined heat and power, and battery storage assets, contracted on long-term Power Purchase Agreements with commercial and industrial clients. Sites are commissioned under master framework agreements covering full estates, with individual locations onboarded as they become ready.
Committed institutional capital removes a structural bottleneck for multi-site renewable deployment, where deployment timelines have historically been paced by project-by-project fundraising rather than by site readiness. The facility allows SRE Capital to commit deployment capacity for the full term of an estate-wide programme at the point of commercial agreement.
The facility brings deployment certainty to enterprise estates that have published net zero commitments alongside cost and resilience pressures. It also strengthens the structural position of the Saber group as a counterparty for large multi-site programmes, particularly across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, higher education, and motorway services estates.
“This facility is the inflection point for distributed energy infrastructure at scale in the UK. The constraint has never been demand or technology, it has been the ability to commit funding for entire estate programmes. With Pollen Street, we can.”
