Commercial Property

Asset value, EPC ratings and tenant attraction, with compliance increasingly mandatory rather than aspirational.

Solar PV + Hydrogen-ready CHP + BESS

The challenge

For commercial property owners, energy performance is increasingly tied to asset value. EPC ratings affect lettability, and compliance requirements are tightening rather than relaxing. Owners need to improve the asset without committing capital that competes with other investment priorities, and tenants increasingly expect a credible energy story.

How Saber addresses it

Rooftop Solar PV is the most visible and accessible starting point, and it can be designed to deliver an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) uplift directly. BESS is assessed at feasibility for tariff management; for mixed-use developments with a thermal load, Hydrogen-ready CHP completes the picture. The PPA structure means no capital from the landlord. Saber offers two structured routes: tenant energy supply models, where the landlord supplies tenants directly, and a direct investment route, where an owner prefers to hold the asset on its own balance sheet.

A day on site

What the blend does across a working day.

Site demand met by Solar PV, Hydrogen-ready CHP, BESS, with residual grid import at the shoulders. Every half-hour is metered, recorded and reported.

Illustrative annual energy mix, shown as a share of site demand. Every unit generated on site is supplied at the contracted PPA rate rather than the grid rate, so savings scale with the on-site share. BESS is a routing stage, not a source: battery discharge is generated earlier by Solar PV or Hydrogen-ready CHP. Round-trip efficiency assumed at 88%; the on-site share is stated net of those losses and the generation bars are gross.
